Connector: Google

In the Apps module you will find the Google connector. This connector connects your Spotler Activate account with your Google account and attached Google products as Google Ads and Google Cloud Storage.

Which events can I share with Google and Facebook?

Activate the Google connector

Go to Apps and select the Google connector. You will see the screen below, and with the button ‘Connect Google’ you are redirected to your Google environment so you can give the needed permissions for this connection.

When your account is a sub-account of your MCC account, select this MCC account first. Next in the input of the ‘managed account’ you can select the sub account. It is also possible to select the MCC account again, when you have multiple websites to manage from one Spotler Activate account.

Remarketing through Google Ads

When creating an audience, you can select the channel Google now. Here you have two different options:

  • Just click on the logo, now it will export event based
  • Export this audience as email list to channels. With this option, it will export every visitor which matches the conditions of your audiences and has an email address.

With the email address option and you use multiple consents, you need the Email for marketing consent at a profile, which is different than the Newsletter consent. When you don’t select the email option, it will export your audiences as lists with rules to Google Ads:

This means that every visitor, at the moment they visit your website, they will send events to Ads. These events will contain the parameters and values you have set as conditions with your Spotler Activate audience. This has the big advantage that every (custom) profile field can be send to Ads.

Are the lists in Ads “low populated”? This is because only from the moment you connect Spotler Activate to Ads and you export the audience, the event and parameters will be send to ads. This means all the profiles in the audience, need to visit your website again to get in this Ads list.

In Ads you can see at Settings / Shared Library / Audience Manager / Audience sources and then monitor Google Ads as source, which events are send from, among others, Spotler Activate.

Although every exported audience appears as a list, including their conditions, in Ads; you could create different rules and condtions based on the send events.

Sending conversions to Google Ads

While connecting your Ads account, Spotler Activate will create the conversion ‘Squeezely Purchase’ This will be send as a conversion to Ads, with every received Purchase event.

Check the action optimization, if this is on primary, our conversion can influence your campaigns and bidding strategies. Change this to secondary to avoid this.
