The GatorMail link allows you to synchronize data between Spotler Activate and the Email Service Provider (ESP) GatorMail. Through the link, audiences, profiles, triggers and product sets from Spotler Activate can be sent to GatorMail.
By completing the full implementation, email addresses and consent will be synchronized between GatorMail and Spotler Activate once. In addition, the default profile fields are synced from Spotler Activate to GatorMail. After establishing the link, the following data is synchronized:
- Email addresses: new email addresses are synced in real time from Spotler Activate to GatorMail. From GatorMail, new email addresses are synced daily to Spotler Activate.
- Consent: Consent changes are synced in real time from Spotler Activate to GatorMail. GatorMail syncs changes to Spotler Activate on a daily basis.
- Profile Fields: With each API call, the standard profile fields are sent from Spotler Activate and stored in GatorMail. Spotler Activate also retrieves the profile fields from GaterMail through a daily import.
Activate the Gatormail connector
Implementing GatorMail consists of creating the GatorMail link, synchronizing profiles to GatorMail and possibly mapping profile fields in GatorMail.
In Spotler Activate, go to Apps and select the GatorMail connector, click 'Login at GatorMail'. You will be redirected to your GatorMail account. Login to GatorMail, grant the permissions and click on 'Yes, allow'.
Then you go back to Spotler Activate, Apps and click on the Gatormail connector. Select the cargo zone that Spotler Activate should sync data to. Map any Spotler Activate fields that need to be mapped to GatorMail fields in GatorMail. The firstname, lastname, postal code, and optin fields sync to GatorMail by default. Click on 'Save Channel', the connection is complete, Spotler Activate imports the existing email addresses from GatorMail once.
To sync profiles from Spotler Activate to GatorMail, you need to create an Advanced audience with the following rules:
Check the GatorMail channel in the Audience Builder. Click on 'Save'. The profiles are synced to GatorMail based on the email address. The profiles that do not yet exist in GatorMail will be created.
You can view the synchronized data of profiles as follows: In GatorMail, go to Contacts. Find the exact email address and click on it. View the synchronized data of the profile under 'Fields'.

In the Journey Builder you can send triggers to GatorMail with the Email trigger. In the Email trigger you can set the following:
- Campaign: The campaign that will be triggered in GatorMail
- Products: The product set that will be sent to the campaign
- Filter empty product sets: the option not to send a trigger when the product set is empty
For the profiles that reach the Email trigger and meet the conditions, Spotler Activate sends an API Call to GatorMail:
- Campaign: with this API call, a trigger for a campaign is sent for the profile and possibly the product set of the profile is also sent. (How can I check if a trigger has been send to the connector?)
In GatorMail you can view the triggered campaign as follows: In GatorMail, go to Contacts. Find the profile and click on 'History'. Click on 'All Activities':
In this overview you can see the campaigns that have been triggered for the profile.
