Connector: Spotler Message

The integration between Spotler Message and Spotler Activate connects customer data in audiences, and journeys to messaging channels such as WhatsApp and SMS.

What does the integration between Spotler Message and Spotler Activate do?

The integration connects Spotler Activate automation capabilities with Spotler Message communication channels. After configuration, Spotler Activate can: 

  1.  Synchronize audiences to Spotler Message 
  2.  Trigger personalized WhatsApp or SMS messages

1. Audience synchronization

Dynamic audiences are created in Spotler Activate and synchronized to Spotler Message. These synchronized audiences can be used in Spotler Message for WhatsApp and SMS campaigns

Examples include:

  • Segment “customers with no purchase in 30 days” → WhatsApp campaign
  • Segment “active customers” → SMS update

2. Journey-triggered messaging

Spotler Activate journeys can trigger personalized 1-to-1 messages through Spotler Message.

Examples of journey triggers include:

  • New lead
  • Status update
  • Purchase completed
  • Abandoned cart
  • Birthday event

When a contact reaches a Messaging node inside a journey, Spotler Activate sends a trigger to Spotler Message. Spotler Message then delivers the message through WhatsApp templates or SMS messages.

How do you enable the Spotler Message Connector in Spotler Activate?

To configure the integration between Spotler Activate and Spotler Message, the following information is required.

Requirement  
Both Spotler products Your organization needs to own a Spotler Message and a Spotler Activatie account
WhatsApp and/or SMS channel configured In Spotler Message, a WhatsApp and/or SMS channel needs to be available
Spotler Message API key Authentication between Spotler Activate and Spotler Message
Spotler Activate phone number field Filled with phone numbers following the E.164 phone number format

Step 1: Create a API key in Spotler Message

  1. Open Spotler Message.
  2. Go to Integrations.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Select API Key.
  5. Create a new API key for the Spotler Activate integration.

Step 2: Set up the Spotler Message connector in Spotler Activate

  1. Open Spotler Activate.
  2. Go to Apps.
  3. Select Spotler Message.

Step 3: Configure the settings

Configure the following settings in the Spotler Message Connector.

API Key

Paste the API key created in Spotler Message. This key enables communication between Spotler Activate and Spotler Message.

Phone field

Select the profile field that contains the customer phone number. This field is used for WhatsApp and SMS delivery.

Fallback Country Code

Select the fallback country code that should be added when a phone number does not contain a country code. Example:

  • +31 for the Netherlands
  • +44 for the United Kingdom

Use strict phone number validation for WhatsApp

When using WhatsApp messaging, it is recommended to enable strict phone number validation in the Spotler Activate Settings. Strict validation uses the E.164 phone number format. Example: +31612345678. Make sure phone numbers entering Spotler Activate are stored in the correct format to ensure reliable synchronization and message delivery.

Enable WhatsApp

Enable this option when a WhatsApp channel is available in your Spotler Message account.

Enable SMS

Enable this option when a SMS channel is available in your Spotler Message account.

After configuring all settings, click Save.

What is the result?

After the integration is configured, Spotler Activate can synchronize audiences to Spotler Message and trigger automated WhatsApp or SMS messages from journeys.

This enables centralized customer segmentation, proactive messaging campaigns, and personalized 1-to-1 communication flows.
